Is it safe to eat eggs if chicken has fowl pox?

My girls which are 5 months old have not laid an egg yet, but I have one that has been squatting for about a week now. She may have fowl pox. When the big day arrives that I finally find an egg, is it safe to eat and egg from an infected chicken? If not, how long would I have to wait before we could eat the eggs from the girls?

I was wondering the same thing. My hens just started laying maybe a week ago and I noticed that 2 of them have fowl pox.

Fowl pox is not a disease that is transmitted in the egg, so I would eat them.

So ironically I go out to put the chickens to bed for the night and close up the coop and I find the first egg tonight.
