Up until 6 weeks ago I had two silkie roos (brothers who grew up together).
I sold the dominant one as he wasn't happy here and his personality didn't really fit in, he went to a very good home so yey!
He was the bigger, heavier roo but both still crowed and mated with my silkie hens.
The boys were separated or else they fought.
Today I noticed that the roo we kept, the smaller sweeter one, is growing wattles - he is 1 year old and never had any before!
His comb seems to be getting bigger all of a sudden and he is also growing a beard, which he never had -
Is this normal??
