This egg pipped 24 hours ago. It's made some progress throughout that time, but hasn't done much in the last few hours. It's active and peeping. The humidity has been lower than usual throughout this entire hatch. Currently it's 58%. I think the inner membrane is yellowing, but it's hard to tell which membrane I'm looking at.

I have assisted before and am comfortable doing it, but I don't want to jump the gun.

Can you see the beak? If it's making a chewing kind of motion it likely still has some yolk left to absorb.

If you can't see that, or any veins or yolk, then you could try making the hole very slightly bigger, just enough to get a better view of what's happening. If everything looks ok, put the egg back in the incubator and see if it makes any more progress unassisted now it has slightly more room to move. If you see a problem like the chick being malpositioned or "shrink wrapped" you might need to help more.

Baby is out. I did help. She was shrink wrapped. this isn’t going to happen to the rest. Should have stuck with my NR360. This new bator doesn’t keep the humidity high enough.
