I have a bottle of Merlot that was given to me as a gift last Xmas (it's prolly cheapo yucko stuff tho, lol)... What exactly am I supposed to do with it? Does it increase the hatch rate at all? Maybe if I pour some in the humidity pan???

No need to be jealous. The fertility sucks so bad because of the weather we should have had many more than that. Gonna be another poor year unless things change.

Plus i have one male breeding a dozen hens and even the hens that hatched out last year are squatting for a cover from Master P, yet I have 3 other males breeding age and not one of them are getting a hen. very frustrating Oh and none of the hens are laying regular just an egg here and there and i know they are old enough as i got eggs from them sence they were a year old.
i have gotten 12 eggs sence April 22nd

It is the same in beekeeping, everyone gets overly anxious with the prospects of the new year. Even I have to keep telling myself that everything will settle out in time. Last week we had frost and over 100 degree weather, go figure.

Zaz,,,your kidding,right? Since April 20th I've put 2 batches of eggs in,,27 on April 27, and 43 on May 4th. We're not in high gear here but since your farther south your season is always a month ahead of us here. I know several weeks last season we had right at 100 eggs going in each week so I still have a long way to go and we've added more hens this year.

Peeps CA,,All other threads here has Hatch-a-longs,,I have Merlot hatch-a-longs,,Celebration of life parties held each weekend since we hatch each Friday and Saturday here. Nothing like a cool glass of the grape to release the deadly toxins in our bodies and to sample new bottled concoctions called wine.I have about 7 bottles lined up so far for this year. My aunt in Mississippi is supposed to be scouring the area for some dandelion and watermelon wine to add to my collection. I use my wine cooler fridge to keep peafowl eggs in all week set on 60 degrees,but always have one bottle inside for the merlot celebrations held starting next Friday here,hopefully.

I know silly... I was joking (tryin' to be funny

). I'm not a wine drinker... beer drinkin' country girl here

lol. I always end up getting a bottle of wine (from one of the many local wineries around here) as a gift from a friend every Xmas tho and it's starting to pile up, lol. Every time I look at the bottle of Merlot that I have it makes me think of you hatchin' PeaBabies (been reading about your Merlot hatch-a-longs for several yrs).
