I'm in West Seattle and it was 25 degrees in my coop this morning! I'm worried about my girls. I have a small heated panel on the wall behind their roost, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything. It's warm when I put my hand on it, but it doesn't radiate any heat. This is the heater: www.amazon.com/Manufacturing-Thermo-Peep-Heated-25-watt-12-Inch/dp/B00JHK375E/
I have five 22 week old pullets -- all supposed to be cold hardy -- Barred Rock, Buff Orp, Australorp, and Speckled Sussex. I don't supplement light and I haven't had any eggs yet. I'm wondering what others do in this weather.
