Is it too cold out for hens to sit on eggs ?

I always let them sit on eggs in the spring, but do I have to wait ? The coldest we go is in the high 20's but there are only 2 eggs in the nest so far. They are just finishing a molt and starting to lay again.

No decision to be made unless you have a hen who is broody. I'd collect those eggs and eat them. It's too cold for chicks.

That was the name of a hen and roo I had long ago. Now I have Stinky (the rooster), Evil Twin, Lucy Leghorn, Layless, and 3 don't have names yet.

I bring a piece of bread out to them every day when it's time for them to go in and Evil Twin comes running to me and jumps up to get the bread !

I have another question. We just started letting them out during the day. Will they go back in the coop to lay their eggs ?

Just so all of you know, my chickens also follow me when I read my Bible to them, which is every night before they purch to sleep, yes in the coop. I have a small flashlight I use. Tonight's passage was from 2 Timothy ....... Makes for healthy hens, roos, and awesome fellowship with another species. Thank you God for my healthy birds
