Hi. I'm Debbie from North Mississippi and this is my second year with my chickens. I have a hen that has been trying to set for a couple of weeks but I kept getting her eggs. I've decided to let her set on some but do you think she will set on them all the way till they hatch and then raise the little ones? I'm worried since I've waited this long. Thanks.

if she is determined. .let her hatch some.. since its getting cold now...she may need a warm area away from flock when she comes off with chicks

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. X2 on Rod-T; let her go through with the hatch and provide a warm area for her away from the flock when the chicks are hatched. Please feel free to ask any other questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Cheers.

Hello Debbie!
400

Welcome to BYC and the coop! There's a lot of great peeps here! Feel free to ask lots of questions. But most of all, make yourself at home. I'm so glad you decided to joined the BYC family. I look forward to seeing you around BYC.

Thanks. I have moved her from the main coop with the most nesting boxes into a separate run with its own lower to the ground nesting box. She can be in there by herself with the babies when and if they hatch. She didn't like moving even tho now she has her own eggs. I will check on her in a couple of hours and she how she is. Cross your fingers for me. Thanks
