Is it too much to ask

Can't happen, you're good people. Can you give the dog something to stop him up a bit? How about you lock him in the bathroom, that way, the plumber gets to smell it when he works in there tomorrow.

(Disclaimer: nothing against plumbers that may be members here, I'm sure you're good plumbers)

I gave the dog some pepto bismol. Hopefully it will do the trick.

I need tea, cookies and an episode of Little Mosque on the Prairie.

Keep your fingers crossed that sick kid stays home tomorrow - then I get the day off. (see, I can be a bad person)

They should keep sick kid home- that is their job as parents. Most daycares around here (in home or not) have a sick policy - your kid is puking, diarhea, or running a fever, you can't be here.

Hope your mouth gets better and the pepto works. Nothing like stinky, runny dog poo.

Okay, the bad news is that the sink is still plugged. I've been pouring boiling water down it, and it *is* draining but at about the same speed as molasses downhill in the snow, so the plumber it is.

The good news is that the little one who went home sick yesterday called in sick this morning. Poor little guy, but yay me. I get the day off with no children so I can actually spend more than just naptime finishing the 2 assignments that are due today and I might even be able to take the van to get the headlights replaced.

And now on with what will hopefully prove to be a productive day.

I used to get those sores all the time. I changed my diet, exercise 4 to 5 times per week and I haven't had one on over 4 years.

Also, I went to ACE hardware and got a mini drain snake. It's cool.
a long flexable flat plastic thing that has hooks or barbs sticking out sort of like flat barbed wire about two feet long.
I think it's called a Zip Snake, or Zipper something, anyway. you shove this thing down the drain and pull it out. all the hair, goo, and nasty stuff sticks to the barbs and BINGO the drain is clear!

I think mine cost $3.00 and worth every penny because $20.00 worth of drano didn't work for me either.

My day is looking up!

I poured a couple of gallons of boiling water down the drain, ran the garbage disposal to clear the water out of that sink, sealed the drain to stop water coming back up and plunged the daylights out of the other sink and hey presto we're good to go.

I had best go make sure I didn't blow the plug into the laundry drain pipe.

ETA: Okay, it's all good. Just going to pour a couple of big pots of boiling water down to make sure whatever it was makes its way all the way out of my pipes and into the sewer.

Then I can put the dishwasher on.

Thanks for all your support, you guys.

My DH's parents had a problem with their plumbing, and they called a plumber out. The plumber told DH's mom to pour salt down the drain.
She said it works. They had a problem later on, and she used the salt down the drain method before calling the plumber. She ended up not having to call the plumber.

.
I don't like to be called sweetie, honey, or darlin by folks I don't know. I refer to children as sweetie or darlin', not adults.

I think some folks can't remember names very well, so they just use pet names instead

, not really a big deal I suppose especially if it's an old timer.

LOL... I believe that it must be a TX thing, or at least it exacerbates it. I lived in TX for a couple years. I noticed the same thing. 'Round here everyone calls you "Ma'am" no matter how old or young you are.

Hope you're on city/county sewer system and not a septic tank. Bleach destroys the good bacteria in a septic system.
