Adopted Julep as an adult. Her previous owner didn't know what breed she was. She LOOKS like a Pekin, and she's BIG like a Pekin, but she's actually quite a bit smaller than my Saxony. Is she maybe a different breed or a hybrid? Not a big deal, just curious.

A year come November.

I think she's prettiest when she's muddy.

I think Julep is a pekin -- just a regular pekin. Is she laying? I find pekin females' beaks go pale when they have been laying for months even when on a good diet and also foraging. My son's females look like Julep and I have been feeding them extra vitamins [poultricell as I can't get nutridrench at our local Tractor Supply] for months now!!

Yes, she lays. She lays A LOT.

I really like Poultry Cell. I gave that and Nutridrench, but I often go for the PC. I see good results from it.

Are non-jumbo Pekins smaller than Saxony, typically?
