Hi guys! Hope y’all and your feathered families are well
Sooo Kinder is now officially 9 days old. An absolute bundle of joy and a complete terror all rolled into one!!!
I think I may have accidentally hatched out a puppy. She chews everything in sight, leaves me poopy-presents all over the place, never stops chattering, and is literally glued to my side 24/7!!! I am in love with this little nightmare! Ha! She went for her first check-up at the vets a few days ago, who declared her/(him?) a fine specimen who is growing beautifully
Which brings me on to my question... do you guys think Kinder is a boy...or a little girl?! When she first hatched, it was just my preset to presume she was a he. It only occurred to me when I was registering her/him at the vets that I have no idea! Haha! The vets have told me I can get her DNA tested at about 4 months, when her grown-up feathers start to come through. (I have never vent-sexed, and wouldn’t feel comfortable to do so tbh). But in the meantime, it has defo got me wondering!
After consulting our trusty friend Google Search, I have definitely started to sway more towards thinking she might be a girl! I know there is no surefire way to know (without successful vent/DNA sexing), but she has a quite a grey saddle and top of her head, she’s a real fidget-bum and chews everything in sight (especially my poor hair!
). However, she does a lot of chattering and does a lot of the classic upright posture/head snaking thing you see in most ganders, so I am totally stumped!
I just wondered what you guys think, in your opinion? I will defo reveal the result in a few months time when I get her/him DNA tested!
But for now, I’ll upload a few pics of her for y’all, including some taken right this second (fast asleep next to my foot lol)... I’d love to know what you all think!
huge thanks and big love to all of you and your feathered families
