...here's Lucy now, about a week later from the last pics. Red coloring is really scattered all over her body. Head and neck area are coming in more white'ish than her body. Shanks aren't much bigger than siblings.

On a side note, some crows made a nest in a tree close to the chicken run and have been visiously attacking hawks that come anywhere near our yard. Never thought I'd be grateful for crows moving in .

Hi there! I'm new to raising chickens and I would love your help here.

Lucy is 5 weeks old. She's always been bigger than her siblings. Recently, she flared her neck feathers at a siblings which I haven't seen the others do yet. I've heard hens do this too though. She has a pretty reserved / shy personality, but is not more nervous, bold or aggressive than the others. No bumps on the backs of her legs, in case that's helpful to know. The last pic. is of her siblings for comparison.
Mine are always flaring up their neck feathers at each other, I suppose that is how they establish pecking order, lol! Face off, flare feathers, stare down, walk away, lol!

UPDATE: Here is Lucy now. The most roostery rooster ever! Just started crowing (mornings only) at 19 weeks old.

He is absolutely gorgeous! ❤️ A definite keeper! Still gonna call him Lucy?? Or Louie?

Thank you! Yep, we still call him Lucy. He's a sweetie. Sadly, we decided that we are going to send him back to the farm that he came from (as a wee little egg). We will miss him. We promised ourselves we wouldn't subject the neighbors to crowing, and I think he'll have a better life on the farm than in a crow collar with us his whole life.
