Is Medistat (nystatin powder) for sour crop in chickens?

Yes, sour crop is commonly (but not always) caused by yeast overgrowth in the crop.

Mine has crop stasis (slow emptying) from it and I'm desperate to find something for her. I'm using ACV and probiotics right now. I called the local vet, who does not see birds, and he doesn't even have any antifungals on hand that can be administered orally. He said the only yeast he sees in mammals is on the skin, so he doesn't even carry the oral antifungals. I was hoping to have some more advice from the BYC first, but I'm thinking I'll just go ahead and order it and hopefully get some replies in the meantime.

I changed the thread title and bumped to hopefully get responses from anyone who may know about this product.

I don't know about that product, but nystatin works very well for thrush which is just another word for yeast infection, so if sour crop is caused by a yeast infection then I would think it would work very well.
