It's not uncommon for hatcheries to use extra male's as free packing peanuts. It's super common in chickens

I am admittedly new to this but explicitly stated that I did not want any drakes.
What’s done is done but if this is truly a common practice then perhaps customers request could still be honored.

And they said you could do what you wanted for it. They honored the paid birds. You could just post the drake for sale or for free if you don't want to deal with the hormones.
