Is morning glory ok for chickens to eat?

Morning glories - all varieties- are a passion of mine and I myself was wondering if they were harmful - the flowers.... the only part of the MG that acts as a hallucinogen is the seed of the original grandpa ott (original blue). However those that are comercially available are treated and therefore null. If however like myself you have heirloom nontreateted variety - according to my son a great deal of seed would have to be processed in order to extract the hallucinogenic properties. So I am planting the varied colors along the fence line. They're not edible like other flowers so the distaste should deter them. ( i have tasted them myself) But they sure like my roses. I didnt even get them in the ground / potted b4 they went after those!

mine have been eating it and so have the ducks, they dont eat the flowers or vines, just the leaves. they cleared out a whole wall of it in 2 weeks. i had no idea what it was until last night but what I have is called hedge bind weed. I thought they didn't eat things that were bad for them. but they have access to their food and water and grass all day so why would they eat it.

question ?... what is a flowering vine that can be planted around my chickens? I want to take some 16ft. wire panels I have a bend into nice hawk protectors/shelter and I want to grow VINES over it for the shade and to break the view of the hawks.. but would really like some that would flower and look nice. Ideas?

Yeah I'd like some ideas on that too. Otherwise I could just plant peas and be productive. XD

I have field bindweed and my 2 mo old roo just gobbled up a bunch of leaves. I’d love if bindweed is safe because I HATE it. And I’d gladly give him all of it I rip out daily. What’s the final consensus? Can I toss it into the run with the other weeds to scratch and eat? He just gobbled the leaves like spaghetti before I could say no.

I'm not sure, I haven't heard of anything happening to chickens form specifically Morning Glory, but I do know that the seeds from certain types of Morning Glorys contain LSA which is a hallucinogen.
I found a chicken laying on her back, gazing at the sky while it was raining hard and she laid there for hours while making strange noises. Turns out she ate a whole bunch of morning glory seeds.. I think she was hallucinate but she was fine in the morning.
