Silkies are one of the best broody breeds in existence. If your dad ever tries hatching eggs in an incubator, he will realize the benefit of having a silkie to hatch them naturally. They are more than a little 'foo foo' breed. And if people trim back their crest & beards, they will discover silkies are NOT stupid - their feathers can obscure their vision. Not their fault.
