Hi all! I am new to this site but I just got chickens this year so I have a lot of questions. They should be about 13 or 14 weeks now and my big question is, is Daisy the BO actually a rooster? Her wattle and comb are huge and bright red. She has huge feet. And has been doing this strange screech in the morning (trying to crow?). Thanks for any help!

Yep! I have a BO the same age (3/26) that's definitely a cockerel; your's has a larger comb & wattles. I know these aren't a guarantee, but I haven't missed yet; I'd bet the farm on this one.

Thanks everyone! And here I was about to go buy a rooster tomorrow to protect the flock. I know it's probably obvious for seasoned chicken owners, but just from the pictures, how could you tell she is a he? Because I was reading how some BO hens have large waddles, some try to crow if they're the dominant hen, etc...

You can tell in the sharp saddle feathers. Also the tails of Buff Orpington hens doesn't have that full shape
