Is my 3yo hen egg bound? Panting and pretended to lay for a long time. Please help. Advice needed.

My 3 yo mixed breed bantam hen made the noises she does when she's gonna lay and started panting and went to the corner for like 20 minutes, and finally, ig she thought she laid an egg and cheerfully started eating and drinking.

What happened to the egg? Is she egg bound or an internal layer or something? Or will she try again later?

She's also blind btw (since birth). Advice would be appreciated.

Also last month she wouldn't eat or drink, so we put her on some antibiotics and she got better but she hasn't laid since.

Is she slowly restarting her laying cycle? Before last month she laid eggs often.

In my experience most hens stop laying regularly/daily after the third year and move to a 3 or 4 times a week cycle. Some even stop laying at that age.

If she is eating/drinking/chirping/scratching she is fine. If she is egg bound she wouldn't be eating. Give her more time and observe her.

I'm by no means an expert, but this sounds strangely similar to something that happened to my hen back in January. I had a hen that I had to put on antibiotics for a respiratory issue. She got better, but acted strangely until I gave her a probiotic mix from the feed store. Maybe the antibiotics messed with your hen's system?

May be but the whole antibiotic thing was a month back and she was fine till now.

I'll give her some yogurt anyway. (Can't find probiotic mix)
