Yes I got them on March 18ish so I guess that would be 6 weeks old right? when he or she puffs up like this she does look big. This picture is a week ago when they arent puffed up
man this is just makiing me crazy trying to figure this out.

Yeah, they looked really big. I have a pair of 3 week old ones just like that and I really hope I have a tom too but I have no clue. Will be interesting to see what everyone says though.

looks like a tom to me
posted from a web page... http://urbanext.illinois.edu/turkey/history.cfm
The
head and neck of turkeys have no feathers; rather it is covered with red, fleshy skin. A soft floppy growth on the front of the head, which dangles downward over the beak, is called the snood or dewbill. The turkey also has a pouchlike area at the front of his throat which is called a wattle. The head, neck, snood and wattle are all reddish colored until the male turkey begins to do his "strut" or mating dance at which time the entire area turns brilliantly bright red.

that little growth looks pretty big to me. my hens are a year old and hardly have an growth!

zatsdeb thanks for your pix to compare. Well I put my turkeys on this forum asking boys or girls when they were maybe 3 weeks old everybody said they were girls, but now a little bigger (and they are growing fast) I cant help but think when he puffs up like that that it is a boy.

Oh I hope so. well I hope I have one of each. thanks! for you alls help with this
