Is my bantam....a cockerel?

Could you say "Jessa wants to know EXACTLY why you don't want him? Are there any other reasons besides having chicks?"
I just asked her. She says that my Mother knows how Chicken Math works.

How should I clean his toes?
I’m not an expert on this but here is what I think you should do. Make him an Epsom salts bath with warm water (not hot) and just bath his feet in it until the lumps start falling off (they’ll start falling off in “bits”), or it gets soft enough that you can use your fingers to push it off (this can take awhile so be prepared). Then If there is leftover stuff just use an old towel to help get the rest off. This is how I would do it, others might have other ways.

*sigh* That's pretty funny how she said that, and it's kinda true...... but....Destiny, how often do your hens go broody?
My current ones have never gone broody, and I don't think that they'll ever do being hatchery birds. My Mom still doesn't trust them, though...

Tell her about the odds that they won't go broody. Tell her if they do go broody, you won't let them hatch eggs. Say it will be pretty easy because

1. Just take the eggs out from under her everyday (they are still edible. Get them before they start developing.)

and

2. you can break the hen of her broodiness if you need to.

No chicks, and a happy, protected flock!

She's in the shower right now, so I'll have to tell her this later. I did tell her already that the reason why my last bantams was always going broody and hatching out chicks was because she kept getting mad everytime she opened up a dozen of eggs and they were bantam eggs. And so she hated my bantam eggs, so I stopped collecting them. Then one would gather a clutch and hatch them. Lolly, Lindbergh, and Lester was out of complete guilt, though. The year before I switched Lucy's eggs with my Silkies eggs so she hatched out Romaine, Rosemary, Guapo, Benz, and Lucky. I felt very guilty about that, so I let her hatch out Lolly, Lindbergh, and Lester the next year.
