Is my BO a hen or a roo?

My research is not helping, some pictures make her look like a hen and other like a roo. Eventually I guess she will either lay an egg or not, and I will know.lol

Your bird is a 5 month old pullet getting ready to come into lay

This is a pullet or a very, very slowly maturing roo (odds are pullet). The wattles and comb is just too small for a roo and doesn't really have the hackle and saddle feathers of a roo. You should know your answer soon - look for eggs.

Yes, I would say a pullet. She looks just like some of my girls with her thick legs and puffy bum. The cockerels will get thin long feathers around their neck.
I too thought my first big BO was a rooster until she laid an egg.
They are sweet birds.

if thats so then all but one of my male packing peanuts are female and im positive thats not so.

bo's do not have crest. i'm guessing you are talking about their combs.

i say that is a cockerel due to tail color and the 2 toned coloring on the wings

heres a hen note that shes an even buff colored all over

also note how small the hens combs and wattles are compared to the roos. i do find its hard to tell but the roos tend to get darker in color and pullets stay light
