is my brooder big enough *NEW PICS*

My brooder is 3 ft long by 2 1/2 ft wide by 2 ft deep.…the picture is my profile/avatar pic…. Is this going to be big enough for 8 buff orpington chick? Thanks in advance! ^_^

It probably is enough room for now.....but when they get older and BIGGER you might want to give them more room

I had a 3'x5' dog crate (4' high), and we had to move our 12 chicks out to the coop early because the were crammed. And that was AFTER I had built an indoor run (you heard me), and I let them out for "recess" several times a day. You need way more space than you think. I'd say 1.5-2 sq ft per chick, to get them to 6 weeks. That's my guess, anyway. I've never heard a magic number for the brooder.

I had an extra 100gal metal stock tank that I cleaned out and am using. It it the perfect size so far.
