is my Buff Orpington a hen?

My BO pullets do not have that much comb or color and are about the same age.

I agree on leg color...my BO's have white/pinkish legs.

My buff orpington from mpc is around 3 months and still has almost no comb, skinnier whitish legs. (So, I'd say yours is a male or maybe something besides a BO).

Wow, lots of divergent opinions on my favorite bird. I sent the same pictures in the OP to my guy at the farm where I purchased her, and here's what he had to say:

The buff orpington is a female for sure. See how PINK her comb and waddles are? No rooster will ever have a pink comb and waddles too.

If she came from us, she is a buff orpington. We never get buff plymouth rock pullets. Plus, her tail feathers would have some black on the end tips and be up in the air and not pointing so much downward. She does not have a rooster tail.

I'm less concerned about the breed, and much more concerned about the gender. For now, I guess I'll just have to do the waiting game and see how she develops.

But I'm still interested in hearing more comments, so fire away!​

I'd say Buff rock pullet,
the guy must be confused on what he has, everyone that he's sold to probably swears up and down they have BOs

I truly hate to say this but that is a rooster. Here's a pic of my chicks at 8 weeks, I woke them up to take this! LOL Notice the BO roo in the back right compared to the hen near the front.
