Hello and welcome to the flock! I raise barred rocks myself and I can tell you it is a little early to be able to tell if it is a rooster. But in a few weeks you will know more. If it is a rooster, you can still treat him the same as the other chicks. Just if you want to gain trust, interacting and holding the chick as he starts growing will build trust.
