We just got fifteen new chicks from my pet chicken and one of the bantams seems to not be moving. The others are walking all over her and I’m worried about her. Is she sleeping? Any advise will help, thanks in advance.

If she won't eat, you can mix some of her food with a little bit of water and possibly some Nutri drench to give her energy and make it easier and more enticing to eat. This is one of my chicks favorite treats!

Shipped chicks require extra help.

Nutri drench rocks, but any vitamin supplement should help.

I would crush the crumbles extra for the first few day or week. I always do this even for the ones that hatch at home. It makes a difference.

Homemade electrolytes if you don't already have some on hand... 2 cups warm (for blending) water, 2 Tablespoons brown sugar (preferred but white is OK), 1/2 teaspoon each salt AND baking soda. Mix until well blended and serve full strength. Add vitamins if you have it.

Hope your babies all pull through! :love

Also, if she isn't moving when they step on her... she could easily get knocked over and trampled to death.

Stressed chicks ALWAYS get a drop of vitamins straight to their beak, in addition to what's in the water. I often see immediate results.

If you need to avoid trampling try to provide her a little safe place that is warm but not too hot. And anyone who is sleeping extra might get extra watering by holding in my hand and dripping a drop just below the nostrils as it rolls around the instinctively swallow. I do the vitamins the same way. With the chicks beak facing the bend of my forefinger to help capture and direct the drop if needed.

Nutridrench can be bought at the feed store, it's kinda pricey. Other liquid bird vitamins may be available in any pet department, I have some of those too. And some people use Poly Vi Sol baby vitamins with NO iron if they have it on hand. Not all baby vitamins have the B's in them and that's kinda what you're looking for. :fl

If you are already using an electrolyte/vitamin mix... my info may be mostly irrelevant. But just in case you aren't... there it is. :)

Thank you everyone for the help. I’ve gotten her to drink and she’s peeping loudly but she’s still not moving or eating. I’ll try the Nutridrench and hope that works. The other bantam is running around like crazy and the other chicks have been eating and drinking lots.
Thank you again for the help! :)

I went to church and when I came back I found her in the same spot that we left her in, completely dead. Thankfully I had her for less than a day so I wasn’t too attached. The only plus side of this is My Pet Chicken will replace her for free. :hit
I know what it’s like to lose chickens though so I’ll make it through and take care of the other chicks that need me.
