A pullet .......

Welcome to BYC! They are both Black Sex Link pullets (Black Stars). I have had many of them and they are wonderful chickens; friendly and docile, hardy, and great layers of large, brown eggs. Good luck with your girls.

Guys I need help too! I bought four Americana's for eggs and I thought I got 4 pullets. I'm not sure if my Alice is an Alex. The chicken to the right of the others. I can def tell the others are girls. Can you please help

Lol thanks for the help. What should I do I don't want to crack into any eggs with chicks in them. And I feel bad separating them. And I raised them since day one I would feel rotten getting rid of "him"

collect the eggs every day, multiple times a day if you have any broody hens.

It takes a while at about 99 degrees for them to actually become chicks. Fertile eggs are no different than infertile, if they haven't been incubated.

Awesome advice! Thanks I'm still learning these are my first chicks. They are about 13 weeks.. So if I collect the eggs right away without them reaching incubation temps they are safe to eat and not going to fertilize? Sorry just double checking.
