Hello everyone,

Yesterday I noticed one of my Silkie hens wasn't with the flock, she is keeping herself separate and lying down quite alot, when she is on the move she is alot slower than normal. Her tail is droopy and she isn't eating much what I have read online makes me think she could be egg bound. I have separate her from her pals and tomorrow we have the vets ( they aren't the best with chickens, and last time I had a poorly chook your advice saved her, the vet wanted to put her to sleep ) I have bathed her in warm water she she is now in a quiet room. Is there anything else I can do or is she even egg bound?

This might sound kind of gross, but you can glove up your hand, put Vaseline on the glove, and push your finger into her vent. If you feel an egg, she’s egg bound. Hopefully someone else with more experience can help you. :)
