My white Cochin chicken is 3 months old, I hatched him myself. I went down to the coop and noticed a little blood, very little, on the ground so I checked him over but couldn't find anything. when I picked him up he started drooling profusely and when I put him down he stumbled and couldn't walk and then seem to catch his balance. He isn't drooling anymore and can walk now but he is not himself. he is standing in just one spot snd not really moving. Any help here??

Oh, yeah he's sick. He could have a crop issue, or worms, for starters. Does he have other symptoms? Diarhea? How's he eating? Crop full or empty? And how does it feel (hard, mushy, etc) There's lots of things that it could be but while you figure it out he needs to be in a hospital cage where he's separate from the others (but not necessarily isolated) and you can watch him. Have you ever dewormed him? Try giving him a little yogurt, or soft bread soaked in buttermilk, and see how he does with that.

Thank you for all your help. I did put him in a separate small cage that's locked up but he's in the coop so at least he can see them. I will have to check his crop I've never done that. I don't have him dewormed but I will try the yogurt and bread. Is regular milk okay? I only have regular whole milk, 2% milk, heavy cream, and plain Greek yogurt. He looked at the food and pecked it a little but I haven't seen him eat much. I did see him poop but it was small and watery and VERY white.

I read up on some info and suggestions and his crop was mushy like but very big so I held him down and drained his crop making him spit it up and it went down in size considerable and he seemed to feel a little better after that

Well, good, but there's a reason it's that way. Have you dewormed him???? If you haven't, it's not a bad idea to. Some worms, like Capillary worms, can inhabit the crop and burrow into the lining. They will make the bird very sick, and eventually die, if you don't treat. Use a broad spectrum dewormer.

Yes I am going to deworm them all this weekend!

Good.

Also deworm them ten days later...Capillary worms are hard to get rid of, they're horrible..so be aware.
