I've been looking at pictures of Cochins, and mine doesn't look like the others. Could she be crossed with a silkie? She looks just like my black silkie, but without the silkie feathers. Also, is she a black cochin? That's what she was sold as, but her feathers seem almost dark grey with dark edges. They are both feed store chickens.

I new she was "special". When I got my first four chicks, I said I had 3 layers and one player, because she was supposed to be a pet. Took her up until about a week ago to even let you come near her, but she is pretty sweet now.

She is a she, right??

I have three in my brooder that looks just like that! All three are different ages, one was hatched in my bator and a friend of mine gave me the other two from some of her hatches. They all came from my friends chickens,...their daddy was a white silkie and the mommy a black cochin. They are so freaking cute!

:lol Too funny! I, too, have a Silkie mix that is black with the crest, feather legged, and smooth feathers. Only my baby is a mix between a Barred OEGB hen and a White Silkie roo!
