I have large breed birds and find that they need a large landing area. I agree they may need lowered to make landing easier. No need to have them crashing into the wall.
I also do not see ventilation. Awning style windows are easy to make and keep the rain out.

In this pic of the front of my coop you can see I used the piece I cut out to make the awning window.

Coop was under construction here.
I chose this pic as the one to share so you can see the details that are now hidden by paint. It is held on by a piano hinge that is cut to size. The window is made from the siding I cut out with 1x3 framing on both the wall and the window. I use a paint stir stick to hold it open.

It has a 6" gap at the top on front and back for ventilation and I have 2 Windows. You just can't see them from that angle of picture

I'm making them a landing as well. It's just not finished yet
