Hello,
New to chickens here! We got this coup as a starter coup and now we are concerned it is to small! We have 6 chickens. They are 18 weeks right now. They have a run they are in most of the day. But with winter coming we have heard they will be inside the coup more. Is this coup to small?
Thanks for your responses. Any and all are welcomed!

What part of the world do you live in? Climate matters a lot.

Those prefab coops are ok as grow out coops and isolation/hospital coops.

For the quantity of birds you have and the breeds I would say yes it's to small. They are not ventilated properly either so that becomes problematic.

You can measure your coop and see how big it is. A common rule of thumb is 4 square feet per chicken in the coop. So for 6 chickens, that would mean 24 square feet. Bigger is always nicer, but much smaller can be a problem if they have to spend all day inside.

Depending on what climate you are in, the chickens may be able to spend their days in that covered run, especially if you put a tarp or plastic over the wire mesh to block the wind. Don't cover all of it the wire mesh, just part of it-- maybe the two sides that wind is most likely to come from.
