People who don't spay or neuter their dogs and cats if they don't want puppies or kittens make me extremely mad. I've dealt with the aftereffects of someone else's lack of responsibility in this department THREE TIMES and I have no tolerance for people who have the option but choose not to.

What risks?
There are none if done properly!
Look I don't want to start a fight and get this thread down so let's not start fighting.

Risks:
  • If done before maturity, increases the risk of osteosarcoma (bone cancer) by a factor of 3.8; this is a common cancer in medium/large and larger breeds with a poor prognosis.
  • Increases the risk of cardiac hemangiosarcoma by a factor of 1.6; this is a common cancer and major cause of death in some breeds
  • Triples the risk of hypothyroidism
  • Increases the risk of geriatric cognitive impairment
  • Triples the risk of obesity, a common health problem in dogs with many associated health problems
  • Quadruples the small risk (<0.6%) of prostate cancer
  • Doubles the small risk (<1%) of urinary tract cancers
  • Increases the risk of orthopedic disorders
  • Increases the risk of adverse reactions to vaccinations

Unless your male is old, there should be no harm done as long as you have someone who knows what they’re doing do it. :)

Okay, okay, okay.

The first one can be avoided if done responsibly
Are you also an anti-vaxxer?

I think you need to learn the benefits of spay or neutering. The benefits outway the risk. You can prevent testicular cancer in males. Other cancers in females including breast cancer. You can prevent uterine problems. Prevent urinary problems or infection including urinating and scenting in house. Prevents behavioral and roaming problems. It is also part of being a good neighbor preventing overpopulation.
