Is my duck just molting? Losing wing feathers

So I picked up a handful of feathers (from my ducks wings) this morning. He is molting his little fluff like normal but I have never seen full feathers like this. He is an only duck but doesn’t appear stressed or unhappy. He comes In the house and plays when he wants and I often go outside and visit with him as well. He has toys and a mirror that he loves. His (he’s a Rouen mallard drake) colors on his wings are gone. Is he molting these? I checked for mites and he doesn’t have any that I can see. He doesn’t seem like he’s hurting. Also....when he flaps it looks like most of his wings are missing. Will these feathers grow back? How do I give him more nutrients if he is lacking those?

I believe it’s called eclipse molt. They lose their wing feathers. And other feathers too.

If he is molting, adding protein to his diet can help. I use cat food. They love it!

Eventually they lose and regrow all their feathers including their flight feathers.

I give him cat food as well....it’s a wonderful treat

He's probably just moulting.

He is in eclipse so he is in full molt. You can give him a small handful of dry cat food twice a week or nothing. Eclipse is a natural process..

I have 2 female ducks and one is losing her feathers. Mostly tail feathers. Is this the same thing? Wouldn’t both be losing them?
