I see a cockerel.

See how it is getting a nice red on the chest? And the plumage at the wings don't match an EE hen color. . . I'd say it will be a BBR/Wheaten type EE (but with a lot of red in the chest. . . This is how mine looked.)

He was over a month old. That photo is an older chick than yours, I do understand - I'm just thinking with that red, and the same deep red and black barring all over the body of yours, it looks to be a male. It could of course be a silver female with the more proper silver color though.

Any other photos I have of my old EE boy are either too young to compare or too old to compare.
