The wonderful thing about EE's is even if they look similar, no two are are really ever the same. My lovely EE... I also thought blue wheaten at first

... she throws some pretty blue chicks and is my favorite hen ever... crazy as you could imagine, and full of character... luckily she's also fairly confident. Check her out as see... it ends up nothing like blue wheaten.. I'll post both if I can...
The blue wheaten will not be hatched with a chipmunk stripe for starters. They look like buff chicks... They also won't get that pattern seen on the wings... stay pretty buff-ish. I've been working with standard wheaten for a while, blue just washes out the tail and black on the wings that hidden by the triangle. I don't have all the terminology down yet though. Only since working with them does it make it easy to discern subtle differences int he pattern. Please know, I mean no snootiness and think your gal will probably not be close to blue wheaten in pattern but maybe in color. Your patter will be much more unique... and thus also beautiful!

BTW, I love the name Vanilla for her! I hope you will tag me and update this thread so others who have the same questions can see how she progresses.
