Is my feed viable?

Apparently, lots of people's chickens died or were really sick after eating DE so I replaced it with more fish oil and some Baobab Powder

What? Are you serious? I hope not... I hope you are just trying to pull our leg here?

Just in case: fish oil is not added to feed for the same benefit as DE and so it can't be a substitute. I don't know anything about baobab powder.
While you can absolutely mix your own feed it can't be a complete crapshot. I found "the chicken handbook" by Gail D. most helpful for guidance. She is thorough, clear and does not say you can only buy commercial feed. You should check it out!

They must have used the wrong D earth. There is two kinds. One is food grade and completely harmless when digested to the animal or human taking it. Then there is the D Earth used in swimming pools as a cleaning agent. You must all ways use FOOD GRADE D Earth.
