that’s definitely a filling bag if she’s never been in milk before. when a doe dries up, it looks like a deflated balloon hanging and if she’s never kidded before, the nipples just stay close to the body.

Thank you. I didn't know that & it's very helpful. Do you know when her privates swell? Right before birth? She's acting so weird today but she's not puffy there.

that’s a tough one cause I don’t feel like it’s the same on everyone. Eldy started to get puffy and had discharge almost 2 weeks before kidding. our others we never noticed any swelling. you’re more looking for looseness if that makes sense. everything starts to fall - their back end will curve down from the centre, their tendons disappear, they start to dilate. we had one doe who was very into nesting and was up and down and visibly in labour and then another who just dropped her kid and the only sign we had was her tendons had gone. luckily they are born to do this, so try not to worry too much! keep an eye on her, but unless you notice visible signs of distress or she’s in active labour for too long, you shouldn’t have to worry.
