Is my hen dying?

Oh, Poor old girl! My opinion is that there is no coming back from that. Hopefully @casportpony will give you a second opinion. If she is no longer able to pass poop and her crop is backed up, I would say she only has a matter of a couple of days at the most, probably quite a bit less. Give her a nice blow dry with a hair drier (assuming she enjoys it) and keep her warm until you can make arrangements to end her suffering.

You know I am interested Kathy, but maybe post on the necropsy thread where more people may benefit from seeing them and perhaps be more receptive to graphic photos.
But yes, I can see that tumours would also cause the same problems..... I do get a bit tunnel vision with reproductive issues . Sadly regardless of whether it is caused by tumours or internal laying or salpingitis or Fatty Liver Haemorrhagic Syndrome or even plain heart failure, this lovely old girl is unlikely to recover from it. :(
Fear not, I will not post them here. :D

I agree with you on her prognosis.

I agree.

Thank you for all of your help. What do you think is the best way to help her along peacefully?
PS. Don't be hard on yourself. Feathers can hide an awful lot and even if you had caught it sooner, there is nothing that you could have done to prevent it.
Thank you for this. I feel awful for not catching it sooner. What exactly do you think she has (for future reference).

Thank you everyone for you words of kindness and help.
