One of my hens has started staying on the nest. She gets off maybe once a day. I know this because when she gets back on she gets into a different nest each time. Since she has started staying on the nest I've been putting eggs under her. She now has around 6 eggs under her but she leaves them behind when she moves nests. Either she is confused as to what setting is all about or she is not really setting. She also looks very untidy (messy feathers). Is there something I should be looking for to figure this out? .........Marie

I don't know alot about it, but I would check her around the vent area, and under her wings for mites. She might be uncomfortable in one nest and think that the other nests will be better... Just a thought. If you do see some mites, you can spread Sevin in the coop and where she has made a dust bath spot...
