is my hen trying to go broody

hi i have a one year old d,uccle and last night she was not where she always sleeps so i got a flash light and she was sitting on the eggs that my flock layed that day and then the next day she got off the eggs an went to free range and now shes free ranging but she keeps going around make this low bawcking sound and i mean i know that is what chickens do but shes just doing it over and over. this is not the first time all this has happened a long time ago i had a rir go broody but tha night a dog came and got her so i moved the laying boxs in side the run and my d,uccle was doing the same thing but then stopped when it happened that time some people on here told me she was trying to go broody. but today she was off the nest and another hen was laying a egg did that hen run her off she has always been at the bottom of the pecking order so she gets pecked at and chased off alot is she trying to go broody my the bigger hens will not let her. thaks so much for your help

Perhaps. If she does go broody, and you want to hatch some chicks, you will have to isolate her from the flock or they will disrupt the whole process.

thanks but how do i know that she is broody if the hens keep chasing her off the nest
