I'm gonna have to go with your husband is right. Husbands always are, right?
Question though. So if you don't give those out does that mean you'd be short and have to buy more?
I am already short so I have to buy more regardless. And I admit he's usually right.
I don't see what the big deal is, personally. If someone has the luxury to be so bothered by a receiving card that doesn't say exactly what they wanted, then that's their issue. Personally, I'm happy whenever someone even thinks to give me a card for things
I feel this way too, but it's his home town and I'm a transplant. I don't wanna ruffle feathers in such a small town.

I think you already have your answer. And, I think you're being thoughtful to consider your husband's feelings.

As in trading blank/unsigned cards?
I'm not sure (so I edited the post - sorry, you saw it very quickly). People do that with extra cards,, rather than sending out repeats or tossing them. Maybe I was misreading it. But - either way, if it would upset a spouse, I think it's right to consider their opinion.

The receivers at church are not likely to be offended, but what is the message you and your husband want to send? I personally would add in my own words to show that when I celebrate Christmas I'm celebrating the birth of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Personally I consider it more important to make sure that message is in a card that is sent to someone who doesn't know Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior, than it is to send it to someone I worship beside each Sunday.

If you're already gonna have to get more then I'd definitely not use any of those.
I see no reason to.
