I don't know much about the difference between hens and roos at 6-7 weeks, but this chicken looks a little different than the others. The comb is not red, but the feathers are not the same and the tail stands up straight sometimes. I really don't want a roo, but if Charlotte is really Charlie, we will keep him anyway. But PLEASE say hen!!!!

Looks totally different than my Light Brahma hen Nelly. I'd question it too. Heres a pic of Nellys coloring & backside at least.

Nelly looks alot whiter from the back. Wonder if thats a traight. Maybe someone else will chime in. Thanks.

I would agree it is a hen. I don't know about the coloring but I think it will whiten out as it gets older but I also have a LB Pullet that has a gray head rather than white like my other pullet and roo but she is pretty

Nelly is 9-10 weeks and has been that light since she feathered out. Maybe your isn't a Light B. I'd suspect a mix, a roo or even a lace Brahma or Blue Columbian Brahma. But don't take my word for it, I'm new. But thats a lot of dark, for a light.

I am sooooooo happy everyone thinks she is a hen!! I agree she has alot more dark than white; she came from McMurrays, but the feed store had alot of chicks in the incubator that day. Maybe she got mixed up. Notice I am using the "SHE"??
