I have very little knowledge of these breeds but I have a question about genetics. Obviously a frazzle is not ethical to breed FOR, but wouldn't a frazzle still just contribute 1 copy of the frizzle gene & therefore, when bred to a regular chicken, make frizzles, not more frazzles? Unless you mean the rooster should be culled if it is a frazzle (which is definitely valid).
I thinj that spot is just the down. He certainly isnt as nice looking as my frizzled gal, but all the frazzled I see are mostly naked within weeks of fully feathering out because it's so easy to break feathers
No, his feathers just aren't nice perfect symmetrical curls like my girl. But I think most Frizzle Cochins look like he doesDid u just call peanut ugly!!!![]()
Please forgive me for barging in here @Jamesthesilkie but I wanted to comment to @JacinLarkwell . You must have a gorgeous flock. I have admired at least (probably more) a few of your birds now. May I please see a pic of this bird? I love admiring other people's birds.I thinj that spot is just the down. He certainly isnt as nice looking as my frizzled gal, but all the frazzled I see are mostly naked within weeks of fully feathering out because it's so easy to break feathers
