So normally both are extra excited for mealworms and run around the cage all day. I noticed my male seemed hunched over, slightly fluffed, and not interested in the mealworms I have them.

They are 12-14 weeks, bought them at 4-6 weeks. They have been in my house the entire time. I know they are outgrowing the pen and hopefully will be going out this next week. We have chickens and turkeys but outside and they have never been near each other.

I started them on some safeguard in case of worms as they haven't ever had any worming, but can they get them inside? They eat Purina medicated starter and mealworms, that's it. I have all-in-one medicated powder here as well if they need a dose of that. Here is a pic of how he stands there during the day. He is on the right.

I have tried to get a pic but nothing shows up. They are on pine shavings in my house currently. His poop us watery. I actually just saw him go from up on the perch and couldn't get a pic. But very watery and this, morning I did see some that looked white/watery.

They have both been in the meds for 2 days now. He is still fluffed and hunched a bit, but he is moving around more and pecking the ground and such a lot more. So I know he's not fully well yet but seems to be feeling at least a little better.

when my birds get sick i give them safeguard for 5 straight days then 5 off then follow by 5 days of safeguard.
It usually takes til the 7-8 day for mine to get back to near normal eating and looking. you should see some better health by the end of the first 5 days.

You need to put them on Corrid for 5 to 7 days immediately followed by electrolytes in water as doses are posted on this site, Safeguard will not work on coccidiousis. If you see no changes or they get sick again then you have the cocidiousis mutated into black head and Corrid will not work and you will need metronidazole or the better stronger form dimetronidazole which is banned in the states but available from China it takes about 5 weeks as I recently went through all this and have some on hand now howver the metronidazole worked and is available in the fish section at Pets Supply Plus, in a blue and yellow box called GENERAL CURE .

If you do need the metronidazole its 10 packets per box and 1 packet per bird mixed with a tablespoon of water and give down the throat slowly not to aspirate their lungs.
