Is my pigeon cage set up properly? :(

maybe have two males they don't need the sand bath maybe a bath of water once a week you could use milk jugs for water and feed by cutting hole about the size of 2x4 end about 2 inches from bottom

I am certain its a male female pair, we've removed the sandbath and are waiting until we give them a larger area before adding in a water bath (plus they are inside and that could prove to be a mess for our floors right now!)

We did this a while ago (a day or two after posting this actually) since they just werent eating it and we do mix a tiny bit in sometimes. Will they really try to nest again before their first two babies are fully grown? :O Wow...

This is the way pigeons raise their young..
Both parents feed/nurse their young. At about day 20, female starts laying eggs and sitting in nest again. Male (Daddy) keeps feeding young ones until weaned.
At about 1 month,(most)pigeons are not really totally grown, but large as adults and can fly.

I have read into them as they hatch, grow and fledge but I had no idea that the momma will make another nest and lay more eggs, thats crazy.

Does anybody on here know how and when to wean a pigeon? I have had this wood pigeon Since April 3, and I've been feeding it Kaytee Exact Hand Feeding Baby Bird Solution. He's been fed this ever since we had him and I'm up to about 60mL of solution per day. However, I have some problems. He is starting to learn how to fly, and that means he is going to soon have to eat and drink on his own. However, he doesn't like water, refuses to drink it from the syringe that I've been feeding him with, and has trouble eating the bird seed that I am giving him. The bird seed I'm trying to feed him now is pictured below. He picks at it but isn't able to eat much of it. Does anybody have any advice? I heard off of YouTube from a man who breeds pidgeons that a good time to start the weaning process is when the feathers under the wings of the pigeon are fully developed. Right now, he has more than he did before, but there is still skin showing.

Was not fed the very rich feed that crop milk from pigeons contain. After the crop milk depletes in a mama pigeon, the baby is fed regurgitated seeds. These seeds are softened with pigeons saliva. The seed mixture in picture is a good blend of seeds but intended for a grown bird. The seeds are hard. Try giving a mix of small seeds and provide a water dish for water at will. It would also be a good idea to have some grit available. Pigeon will pick it up at random on their own. You can also try offering chicken starter crumbles. No grit needed to digest those. Remember that a hand fed pigeons fed by humans will develop slower than one raised by parents. Keep doing what you are doing, meaning trying your best, and eventually lil guy will be adult.
