Yesterday or the day before I posted about his silly little dance. Today we heard some ruckus in the pen and looked over just in time to see a pullet and the roo come out of a dark corner and she fluffed. I figured they were doing the deed, maybe, but they are only about 17 weeks old. So a little bit later, same ruckus (which, btw, gets the dog all hyper and she runs over and scares them). Later I was giving them some wheat and they were all gathered around. The roo pecked one pullet right on the back of the neck, she hollered (pretty much the same sound as before), moved away, and fluffed. Maybe that was all the happened the other times. Is this some kind of practice run?
