I had a gorgeous Golden Sebright named Delilah from my original eight chicks I raised from day old TSC. Sebrights are hen feathered so I chose to stay in denial for A LONG TIME until he finally started crowing - all day long. He was a total crooner and even though I was able to rename all the other accidental cockerels, I couldn't imagine him being anything other than Delilah.

Unfortunately, the other cockerels didn't enjoy his singing as much as I did and I awoke one morning to find my beloved Delilah.... It was then I decided that the other cockerels needed to go. :hit

Sorry i'm asking so many questions but were your Meyer favs the same size as chicks that your stock were? I only got one due to uncertainty but that is a huge beefy chick compared to my own hatches. So far it is feathering out as a pullet but painfully slow, it still dwarfs it's mixed bag broodmates a SS, dom and buff brahma.
Of course not all are that dark, but I have seen others as bad from people posting here asking the same question. Pullets with completely black muffs/beard/chests. I've also seen some of Ideal's stock in person.

As for Meyer, a few years ago for giggles I got a dozen Meyer Fav chicks from a feed store to keep 2 hatchlings company. As chicks they all looked the same - solid yellow and all with great toes. No extra toes or nails. When they matured there was a definite difference between the Meyer pullets and mine, but the hatchery birds weren't that bad. Type wise they were decent, no split wings, good tailset. A small number had some black flecking in the beards. All were half the size of my breeder Favs though.

Well if there is a weird one i'm bound to get it. It will be interesting to see how it turns out anyway.
The Meyer chicks were similar in size to my breeder chicks. They feathered in on a similar schedule too. I'm not sure why yours is so much larger, and why it's behind in feathering in.
