I'm really hoping y'all can help me out since I'm new to the world of chicken raising. I bought a chick that is supposed to be a female Ameraucana. I understand that I may actually have an EE rather than a true Ameraucana but I don't care much about that. Can someone tell me if this chicken looks like a rooster? The comb is more reddish than the buff orpington's and a bit more pronounced. The ameraucana (or EE) also has tail feathers that hang down slightly. Both of these chicks are sweet as the day is long, not aggressive at all. They stay together in my yard like a two bird flock. Please tell me this is not a rooster, I really want to keep this chicken. "She" is amazing and beautiful. "She" is about 6 or 7 weeks old here. They are a little over 8 weeks now and is noticeably larger than the buff orp and looks like a muppet with ear muffs.
