Please tell me my daughter's chicken is a hen! Her comb is awfully large! I know that leghorns can have huge combs, but she is also making some very suspicious roosterish sounds. I'm hoping she's just singing to tell me she's going to lay soon? She is 5 months and 1 week old...

EDIT: I miscalculated! She is 18 weeks old! Does this make a difference? She was hatched May 23rd. I was calculating the 5 months off the wrong date!

Is she still a SHE?

Looks like a she from that one photo.

Leghorns normally have HUGE combs.

She looks just like my NON-LAYING 5 month old!!!!!!!! I know, I'm trying to wait patiently:)

She looks like my leghorn pullet a few weeks before she started laying. Her first egg came a week or so after her comb grew even more, and flopped over.
