THEY ARE NOT DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HENS, DOGS AND CATS!!!!!

The official motto of most jurisdictions, on ANY subject, should be "THERE IS NO REASON FOR IT, IT'S JUST OUR POLICY."

You can have a parrot in a cage, but not a chicken.

You can keep a 140 pound Great Dane in an apartment, but not a bantam rooster.

Sorry for your problem, it's one that many people face. Perhaps you can have your doctor deem the bird as medically necessary as a companion animal to help you to combat the depression that you feel because YOU LIVE IN SUCH A STUPID, BACKWARD LOCALITY THAT WON'T ALLOW CHICKENS!!!! Quoting the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, marriage is an "evolving paradigm'" so perhaps she can be your fiancee. I'm only kidding a little bit, this is just stupid enough that it might work. Sorry for your problem, and good luck.

Well, fight it in court ! If you think your rights has been violated don`t be afraid of it. That I know in NJ or any other State you can fight over it, if you have a chicken and it is a pet then you have rights to keep it, can`t be for consumption, eggs included. Common sense, If they allow any other bird to be a pet in any other house in your town then you have a case. It`s about your rights, not about the chicken at this point!

P.S. YES Chickens are VERY different from dogs and cats!!!!! Chickens poop EVERY FEW MINUTES!! LOL It's not a pet that you would want or should be able to have walking all over your home for hours!!! Chickens are great though! They are sweet, won't leave their "home" and provide nice, fresh, healthy eggs!! BUT you need to have the proper housing, heat, food storage, fresh clean water & coop, etc. Enjoy. Good luck!!!
