Is only a run enough?

I have an run/cage that's about 9.5 feet by 4 feet in size, would that be enough for 1 rooster and 2 to 3 hens.

Can I get by with just a run and no coop?

I live in a area with pretty mild weather with the coldest temps being around 15 degrees Celcius and have no real predators

Any ideas for adding nesting boxes?
I was thinking I should make them raised/above the ground so they take up less ground space but don't have any designs for inspiration

A coop is entirely optional and isn’t a necessity. From how many chickens you’re going to put into the run, I don’t see an issue, especially since you said it has a roof. I have several open pens (with optional cover that they can get under during windy/rainy days) with only one main coop for my laying hens and it works out beautifully.

I have a “coop” like that. It’s basically just a rectangle covered in hardware fabric. In the winter I cover the whole thing in painter’s plastic (leaving space for ventilation). My winter temperature ranges from 50F to about 10F at the lowest.

I attached some pictures of my nesting boxes/shelters.

That looks perfect!

It should be big enough but I would not want to add more chickens than that.

I suspect you have predators, dogs if nothing else.

Some people might call that an open air coop but in your temperatures you should be OK.

My concern would be that the nest stay dry in the rain.

For inspiration I'll link a couple of old threads to show what some people have done. As you can see your only limit is your imagination.
